Eternal Works

Eternal Works Inc. is dedicated to women’s healing empowerment through dance. We primarily produce solo and small group work that explores womanhood, questions femininity, and perpetuates wellness through performing powerful images and positive representations of women and their families living in injustice, oppression and poverty.

Eternal Works teaches contemporary dance classes and experimental workshops that practice dance to understand our human condition in relation to the world and engages in community dialogue, women’s health research, rehearsals, and performances that reflect and restore community; our activities encourage education, local and cross-cultural exchanges, and build relationships that examine and celebrate the eternal woman.

Eternal Works premiered Goddess Subdued in 2006, commissioned by 651 Arts “Black Dance": Tradition and Transformation Program in May at Kumble Theater in Brooklyn, NY. This was a shared evening with well established choreographer Reggie Wilson Fist & Heel Dance Theater.

Since Eternal Works’ premier of Goddess Subdued we have been presented by This Woman’s Work at Howard University and Alvin Ailey’s City Group Theater in 2006 and at Aaron Davis Hall’s Harlem Stage in 2007.

Eternal Works premiered it’s newest works: Lullen in a New Plantation Economy and Don’t Live Here Go in March at their 2008 Season in NYC at Dance Theater Workshop. This concert also featured choreographer Juliana May/MAYDANCE. Lullen in a New Plantation Economy and Don’t Live here Go are both  commissioned by the Bessie Schonberg/First Light Commissioning and Creative Residency Program of Dance Theater Workshop in New York City.
