Technique class focuses on a repetitive series of warm-up movements that build in exercises rooted in the idea and exploration of weight, curves, spirals, and
undulations. This training practices core strengthening, opposition, release,
coordination, stretch, and balance in center movement phrases and locomotive
exercises across the floor. Finally diving into choreographic material rooted
in rhythm presence, pelvic thrusts, and weight shifts. Special attention is given to the arms, hands and multi-lingual forms of dance. (Photos above right and right by Scott Johnson)
Repertory class will learn, explore, and develop a work from our repertory. We are currenty teaching excerpts from a new work, Swing Us Sky Rainbow. We also teach other work from our repertory. Please see Choreo(graph)ic Works web page to get an idea of the range of works. (Photo courtesy of Sarah Holcman)
Artist Talk gets into the mind of the choreo(graph)ic process and the dancers performance. These are intimate times with the company that may be used as a lecture/demonstration. It is also a time for the audience to ask questions about the work and comment responsively on the performance. (Photo courtesy of Sarah Holcman)
